Redpath Australia is seeking an experienced Area Manager – Maintenance to join our team in a Perth based FIFO 8 days on / 6 days off roster. This is a key leadership role responsible for driving maintenance performance, consistency, and capability across multiple underground mining projects.

Reporting into senior operational leadership, this role provides strategic and hands on support to site based maintenance teams, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable asset performance across all projects.

The Opportunity

Working on an 8/6 roster from Perth, you will rotate across project sites, providing leadership, technical support, and governance for maintenance systems and standards.

You will play a critical role in:

• Standardising maintenance practices
• Improving equipment reliability
• Supporting site teams through coaching and leadership
• Driving continuous improvement across the business

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Leadership & Support

• Act as the primary escalation point for site maintenance teams
• Provide technical guidance and problem solving support across projects
• Lead and support mobilisation and demobilisation activities, ensuring equipment readiness and compliance

Performance & Continuous Improvement

• Review and analyse monthly maintenance KPIs
• Develop and implement improvement plans with stakeholders
• Facilitate forecasting and planning meetings (labour, parts, budget)

Asset & Equipment Governance

• Conduct maintenance process audits and ensure alignment to company standards
• Perform equipment condition assessments and risk identification
• Drive consistency in equipment standards and work management practices
• Ensure equipment handover compliance meets company and client expectations

Reliability & Risk Management

• Lead failure reviews alongside Maintenance Coordinators and Reliability teams
• Support incident investigations with technical expertise and corrective actions
• Identify trends and implement preventative strategies

Capability Development

• Coach and mentor site based Maintenance Superintendents and Coordinators
• Build capability and strengthen leadership across maintenance teams

About You

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in a Maintenance Superintendent or Management role within underground mining
• Strong background in mobile plant maintenance and asset management
• Proven ability to lead across multiple sites and teams
• Experience in maintenance planning, reliability, and continuous improvement
• Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
